Jarrah & Grace began the way most good things do — with two friends and a shared stubbornness about what women deserve to feel like when they get dressed.

Jarrah and Grace met behind the counter of a small boutique on Chapel Street more than forty years ago. One had an eye for fabric; the other could tell within a minute what a woman needed to hear. They stayed. Through three generations of customers — brides, widows, daughters heading to their first job interview — they dressed the women of this city and learned which colour suits which season of a life.

What Happened

Last year we lost the shop. The lease went, and there was no version of the numbers that worked. We packed forty years into boxes and put them into storage, and for a while that was that.

Then we did what we have always done. We adapted.

Everything we still have is here, online, at a fraction of what it hung on our racks for. Every piece that finds a home takes us one step closer to opening a door again — a real one, with a bell on it. That is what this is for.
